Q. When will I know who will be photographing my wedding?

A. Del Ryder promises to personally photograph your wedding at the time he signs the photography services contract with you.

Q. Do you work alone at your weddings?

A. A photo assistant is present for all weddings booked for six or more hours. On very large weddings it is sometimes necessary to bring two assistants.

Q. What happens if your camera breaks at a wedding?

A. That shouldn’t worry you. The Hasselblad medium format and Nikon 35mm are widely accepted as the world’s best cameras. I always bring several cameras to the wedding as well as back-up lighting equipment.

Q. Will you do anything special in preparation for our wedding?

A. I believe in close communication with the wedding couple. I conference with the bride and groom during the month before the wedding to discuss their day.

Q. Will I have to do a lot of posing on my wedding day?

A. No!! Wedding photography should not be an intrusion. I shoot in an "On the Fly" style to capture the fun and spirit of the day. I am easy going, professional and artistic… and I always remember that the wedding day belongs to the couple. I am very efficient with my time and do not infringe on wedding day plans.

Q. I notice that many of your photographs have special effects such as borders and graphic effects. How do we get these photographs?

A. Graphic effects and print enhancements are accomplished in Photoshop after the wedding. The wedding couple decides what types of print enhancement or special effects they are particularly fond of and place an order for these special effects after viewing their original preview prints.

Q. What happens if you are sick on the day of my wedding?

A. That’s an important question. In twenty years and over 600 weddings I have been fortunate and have never been unable to work on the day of a wedding. I have five photographers whose work I respect. One of these photographers would be able to cover your wedding if I were ill. Incidentally, I also cover for them.

Q. We’ve seen a lot of good photographers in your price range. Why should we select you as our wedding photographer?

A. I am a full time photographer devoted to the art of photography. I personally find great pleasure in photographing a couple on their special day. My skills as a photographer are extensive. I have studied with some of the great American Master photographers to keep my skill level at its highest. My work has been shown in galleries and museums and my photographs have been published in several books, magazines and art journals. I have taught photography at the college level and have also directed a photography gallery in New York. I am also a webmaster/designer and maintain my own websites and am skilled in digital imaging and editing in Photoshop. You should select me as your photographer because I am committed, experienced and possess the flexibility to work within any situation to make your day a photographic success.
