On a road trip through Arizona I passed by these teepees on Route 66. I had never seen them for real but they were a big part of my childhood memories of the American Southwest. In posters they always had the old cars from the 50's parked out front. After a quick u-turn, I parked to get a better look. Just about the time I was thinking of driving away (because I liked my memories better than what I was looking at) this little cloud floated into view. It looked like a man. Or was it an arrowhead? Was it both? Then I realized it was, of course, a sign. It was a photograph worth taking. The teepees were empty and cars long gone but the spirit remained.
